Punjab names Dr. Surjeet Bhadour as Verka Ferozepur GM, leveraging 20+ years of dairy cooperative expertise to scale grassroots farming schemes.
Dr. Bhadour Appointed to Lead Verka Ferozepur Plant

The veteran Milkfed executive brings over 20 years of cooperative dairy experience, pledging village-level development and premium quality standards.

The institutional framework of Punjab’s organized dairy processing sector has locked in a major leadership transition following a key government intervention. The Government of Punjab has officially appointed Dr. Surjeet Bhadour, a veteran Senior Officer within the state’s Cooperation Department, as the new General Manager of the Verka Milk Plant in Ferozepur. This strategic assignment positions an experienced administrator at the helm of a vital processing node under the jurisdiction of Milkfed Punjab.

Dr. Bhadour brings a highly diverse and cross-functional professional profile to the Ferozepur installation, backed by an elite academic and technical background. An alumnus of the Veterinary College of Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana, he holds a graduation degree in Veterinary Science alongside an MBA and a postgraduate degree in Journalism. Prior to this newest executive deployment, his technical expertise was utilized at Milkfed’s specialized Cattle Feed Plant and the Frozen Seamen Station located in Khanna.

The newly appointed General Manager possesses a deep, two-decade operational record within the commercial dairy cooperative ecosystem. Dr. Bhadour has accumulated more than 20 years of senior management experience directing operations across an extensive network of Verka Milk Plants under the Cooperation Department. His expansive executive tenure includes prior foundational terms serving as General Manager across several key regional dairy hubs, specifically in Ludhiana, Patiala, Jalandhar, Sangrur, and Khanna.

Beyond his strictly technical and economic capabilities in the livestock arena, Dr. Bhadour maintains a profound connection to communication and regional literature. Before entering his long-standing career with the state’s Cooperation Department, he was actively engaged in professional journalism for an extended period. He continues to remain deeply involved in the Punjabi literary and cultural sectors, having recently authored and published an original book, titled ‘Ghal Khae Kichu Habhu Dei Vi’, which directly draws from his multi-decade experience within agricultural cooperatives.

Upon formally assuming charge of the Ferozepur processing plant, Dr. Bhadour outlined a clear roadmap focused on dual organizational objectives: protecting consumer safety and uplifting smallholder margins. His near-term operational priorities emphasize distributing exceptionally high-quality milk products to urban markets while simultaneously driving the all-round development of local dairy farmers. To achieve this, the executive plans to aggressively execute the Punjab government’s grassroots development schemes, transferring advanced dairy farming frameworks right down to the village level.
