In a big blow to the common man, the Sanchi Milk Co-operative Federation has announced a hike in the prices of milk in Madhya Pradesh. The new prices have come into effect from Monday and the cost of milk has gone up from Rs 3 per litre to Rs 5 per litre.

The Sanchi Milk Co-operative Federation has decided to increase the prices of milk with effect from Monday in Madhya Pradesh, giving a big blow to the common man. The hike in prices is across all brands under Sanchi and the cost of Sanchi milk has gone up from Rs 3 per litre to Rs 5 per litre.

The proposed hike in milk prices by the MP Milk Federation is not only going to impact the budget of households, but prices of sweets, food and other milk products are also likely to go up. Apart from this, prices of other milk products such as ice creams, lassi and cold coffee, which register a huge sale to beat the heat during the summer season, will also see a hike in prices.

NEW RATES APPLICABLE

On Saturday, an official release from Bhopal Dugdh Sangh said that new prices will be applicable in the state from the morning of Monday, March 21. The customers who have paid in advance for a period from March 16 to April 15 will continue to get the milk at old rates. The price hike would be applicable from April 16.

After the revision of rates, a half-a-litre full cream gold packet will now cost Rs 29 against the price of Rs 27. One litre of the same variety would now be available at a cost of Rs 57 instead of the existing Rs 53.

In a similar manner, a 500ML Shakti packet will cost Rs 27 against the existing Rs 25. The prices of toned milk (Taza) and double toned milk (Smart) varieties will cost Rs 24 and Rs 22 respectively for half litre packets. The cost of double toned milk (Smart) is now available at Rs 10 for a 200ML pack.

Likewise, the price of Chah Milk has gone up by Rs 5 per litre to Rs 53 against the existing Rs 48. One has to shell out Rs 47 instead of Rs 43 for special tea milk. The price hike of Sanchi brand milk will be applicable in Indore and other parts of the state.
