Executive to serve out contractual notice period as board initiates search to fill casual vacancy at the Dutch-backed dairy major.
FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) has formally announced the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, Kashan Hasan. As reported by Business Recorder, the publicly listed dairy and consumer foods manufacturer disclosed the leadership transition via a regulatory filing submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday, confirming that Hasan has stepped down from both executive management and his seat on the board of directors.
Under corporate governance protocols and company policy, Hasan will continue to perform his operational and directorial responsibilities until the formal completion of his notice period. The board of directors confirmed it will appoint a successor CEO and address the casual board vacancy in due course, adhering to statutory and regulatory frameworks established by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the listing regulations of the PSX.
Hasan’s departure concludes a tenure backed by more than two decades of senior commercial, sales, and general management leadership across emerging and developed markets, including South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Prior to taking the helm at FCEPL, Hasan served as Chief Executive Officer of Shan Foods following a 15-year career at consumer health and hygiene multinational Reckitt, where he ultimately served as General Manager for Pakistan.
Originally established in 2005 as Engro Foods, FCEPL underwent a landmark transformation in 2016 when Dutch dairy multinational Royal FrieslandCampina executed a $450 million foreign direct investment to acquire a majority stake via FrieslandCampina Pakistan Holding B.V. Operating across the value chain, the company maintains extensive milk procurement operations powered by over 1,300 village milk collection centers, a commercial dairy farm in Nara, and large-scale manufacturing facilities in Sukkur and Sahiwal producing packaged liquid milk, tea whiteners, and frozen desserts.
The leadership transition comes at a demanding operational juncture for Pakistan’s formal dairy sector, which continues to navigate macroeconomic headwinds, currency fluctuations, energy tariff adjustments, and farmgate input inflation. Hasan’s successor will be tasked with defending consumer volumes, driving margin recovery across value-added dairy portfolios, and strengthening farmer backward-integration networks to safeguard raw milk intake across the country’s dairy heartland.
