India’s leading dairy cooperative posted 11% growth in FY26, driven by strong consumer demand, a wider product range and global expansion.

Amul has crossed the historic ₹1 lakh crore, or roughly ₹1 trillion, turnover mark for the first time in the 2025-26 financial year, strengthening its position as one of the world’s largest dairy cooperatives. The Indian dairy giant reported 11% growth over the previous year, supported by rising demand for milk, cheese, butter, ice cream and other value-added dairy products.

The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets products under the Amul brand, reported sales turnover of ₹73,450 crore in FY26. That represented a 11.4% increase from ₹65,911 crore a year earlier, making GCMMF the largest fast-moving consumer goods company in India by turnover.

Amul said the growth was fueled by a portfolio of more than 1,200 dairy product packs, combined with one of the country’s broadest distribution systems. The cooperative also highlighted its ability to adapt quickly to changing consumer preferences, helping it sustain strong growth in both traditional dairy categories and newer packaged products.

The company’s international strategy also contributed to the milestone. During FY26, Amul expanded beyond India by introducing fresh milk in Europe and the United States, signaling its ambition to become a global dairy brand. Executives said the cooperative’s domestic expansion into smaller towns and its overseas push both played an important role in driving higher sales.

Amul’s leadership said the record turnover reflects the contribution of its 3.6 million dairy farmers and the strength of India’s cooperative dairy model. The federation currently procures around 31 million liters of milk per day and distributes more than 24 billion packs annually across over 50 countries, underlining its growing influence in the global dairy industry.
