Government releases major dairy economics incentive as Jharkhand State pushes for White Revolution progress.
The Jharkhand government has provided a major financial injection into its local dairy sector by announcing an incentive release of Rs16 crore toward pending payments for dairy producers. This announcement, strategically timed for the auspicious occasion of Navratri, serves as a powerful signal of state support for the crucial agribusiness. This direct financial relief is expected to bolster the economic stability of farmers and enhance productivity across the region.
The released Rs16 crore specifically addresses incentive dues that accumulated between April 2025 and August 2025. According to the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Cooperation Minister, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, the funds have been successfully cleared by the department. This financial support is channeled through a scheme that grants Rs5 per litre of milk as an incentive, with the money set to be credited directly into the bank accounts of the qualifying producers.
The reach of this government initiative is substantial, benefiting a significant portion of the local farming community. The Jharkhand Milk Federation estimates that nearly 60,000 dairy farmers across the state will directly receive payments from this release. This comprehensive coverage is designed to ensure that the economic prosperity generated by the subsidy is widely distributed among small and medium-sized dairy producers.
In addition to financial aid, the figures reflect a strong momentum in the region’s overall dairy capacity. Officials from the Milk Federation noted that the current daily milk collection stands at approximately 2.53 lakh litres. This rising collection capacity serves as tangible evidence of Jharkhand‘s “rapid progress” in its journey towards achieving a “white revolution,” a term used to describe significant growth in national milk output and efficiency.
Ultimately, the Minister emphasized that the government’s intervention extends beyond mere subsidy distribution. The long-term policy goal is twofold: not only to ensure the economic prosperity of the dairy producers through stable dairy economics, but also to actively promote their self-reliance. By clearing these substantial, pending dues, the state is investing in the independence and sustained growth of the vital farming community.
