Punjab's Verka Records Explosive 14.79% Growth Blitz

Milkfed Punjab generates a massive ₹551 crore turnover in June 2026, driven by value-added product spikes and an 11% surge in raw milk procurement.

India’s regional value-added dairy market is witnessing a profound shakeup as cooperative entities rapidly scale their commercial footprint. Verka, the flagship consumer brand operated by Milkfed Punjab, has achieved a remarkable revenue milestone by booking a turnover of ₹551 crore for June 2026. This impressive performance represents a substantial 14.79 percent year-on-year growth trajectory when contrasted directly against the ₹480 crore baseline recorded during the exact corresponding month in the previous fiscal year.

The regional administration has attributed this robust commercial surge to a highly coordinated execution strategy centered around aggressive raw milk collection, a systemic expansion of processing infrastructure, and soaring consumer appetite for high-margin portfolios. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized that the absolute ₹71-crore revenue expansion reflects an intergenerational increase in consumer brand equity. He noted that the cooperative’s current financial momentum tightly aligns with state-backed targets to empower local agricultural suppliers and improve rural asset liquidity across Punjab.

From an economic data perspective, the most striking catalyst behind Verka’s record-breaking month is the dramatic acceleration in upstream milk procurement. The cooperative expanded its raw collection network by nearly two lakh litres per day in June, registering an 11 percent volume expansion over the prior year. This localized acceleration is particularly significant for global dairy analysts given that Punjab’s cooperative growth rate is currently pacing at almost double the prevailing Indian national procurement average of 5 to 6 percent.

Running parallel to this fluid abundance, Verka recorded highly aggressive consumer demand across its highly diversified value-added product portfolio. Commercial sales velocity was supercharged by a staggering 94 percent surge in Table Butter volumes, alongside an explosive 213 percent spike in UHT Cream lines. Other key processing segments also demonstrated excellent market execution, with UHT Milk climbing 20 percent, Ice Cream advancing 22 percent, Tetra Pack Lassi expanding 30 percent, Ghee rising 41 percent, and Dairy Whitener jumping 58 percent.

To sustain these powerful commercial tailwinds, the Punjab Government has committed to a long-term capital allocation roadmap designed to permanently reinforce Milkfed’s market leadership. Chief Minister Mann clarified that state investments will remain intensely focused on immediate cold-chain expansion, advanced technology adoption, continuous product innovation, and deeper retail market penetration. By treating the cooperative dairy model as a primary engine for rural job creation and farmer empowerment, the state aims to ensure a secure pipeline of high-quality, nutritious dairy goods to fulfill evolving domestic nutrition requirements.
