At the focal establishment, Bhaskar Dairy located in the Mahape industrial belt, enforcement officials confiscated 1,309 kg/litres of dairy products valued at ₹2.23 lakh. Official samples were secured under chain-of-custody protocols and transferred to certified public health laboratories for comprehensive chemical and microbiological analysis, focusing on screenings for synthetic fat substitution, non-dairy oil adulterants, and statutory solids-not-fat (SNF) compliance.

The localized action in Navi Mumbai was part of a larger, two-day statewide enforcement campaign across Maharashtra that included 22 targeted raids and the inspection of 89 commercial food establishments. Statewide, authorities seized 2,348 kilograms of dairy powder and 902 litres of adulterated liquid milk valued at ₹5.04 lakh, while simultaneously cracking down on prohibited substances such as gutkha and non-compliant edible oils.

A major focus of the current regulatory push is eliminating the deceptive misbranding of vegetable-oil-based analogues as authentic milk derivatives. The FDA issued strict advisories warning commercial food handlers, restaurants, and wholesale traders against marketing processed analogue blends as “Real Cheese” or “Real Paneer,” cautioning that establishments misrepresenting synthetic fats as pure dairy solids face immediate licence suspension and prosecution under the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSAI).
