Historically supported by philanthropic and developmental initiatives under Tata Trusts, the assimilation of Tridha Dairy into Tripura’s apex cooperative framework establishes a formal institutional bridge between regional raw milk producers and statewide processing channels.

Under the new operational arrangement, Gomati Dairy plans to streamline and expand the day-to-day processing activities at Kamalpur in the coming months. The cooperative’s immediate priority will focus on scaling daily milk procurement volumes directly from surrounding village-level dairy farmers, incentivizing rural households to expand their milking herds and encouraging broader youth and agrarian participation in the formal dairy economy.

Beyond expanding upstream farmgate collection, the cooperative aims to optimize the Kamalpur plant to guarantee the supply of safe, pasteurized, and hygienically packaged milk and value-added dairy derivatives for consumers across northern Tripura. Gomati Dairy officials emphasized that building a modernized processing hub in Dhalai will establish reliable market linkages, eliminating middleman exploitation and providing smallholder milk producers with stable, transparent milk checks anchored to scientific fat and solid-not-fat (SNF) metrics.
