The ban specifically targets fraudulent items heavily marketed as paneer, ghee, butter, and other common dairy staples that are synthetically produced using vegetable oils, starch, and industrial chemicals instead of genuine milk.

State officials emphasized that the regulation is designed to stamp out deceptive commercial practices that deliberately mislead consumers into purchasing adulterated food items. Beyond economic fraud, these synthetic alternatives bypass standard hygienic and nutritional parameters, presenting significant public health hazards to everyday consumers.

To enforce compliance, the Food Safety Department has deployed inspection teams across dairy processing units, cold storage facilities, wholesale hubs, retail markets, hotels, restaurants, and confectionery shops throughout the state. Authorities are actively collecting samples of suspected products to send for immediate laboratory analysis and verification.
