A new milk chilling centre aims to boost dairy production, improve storage and strengthen rural incomes.
Yogi Adityanath has announced the launch of a new milk chilling centre in Azamgarh as part of the expansion of the Shri Baba Gorakhnath Kripa Milk Producers Institution in Gorakhpur. The project is designed to strengthen dairy infrastructure in eastern Uttar Pradesh and improve the region’s ability to collect and store milk efficiently.
The new facility is expected to support local dairy farmers by increasing milk storage capacity and reducing losses across the supply chain. State officials believe improved chilling and handling systems will preserve milk quality, encourage higher output and create better conditions for organized dairy marketing.
According to the chief minister, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to stimulate the rural economy through dairy development. By expanding milk production and creating stronger market links, the government expects to generate additional income opportunities for farming households throughout the Azamgarh region.
The project also places a strong emphasis on women’s participation in the dairy sector. Yogi Adityanath said the expansion of dairy infrastructure will help improve the economic position of rural women involved in milk production and cooperative activities. The government sees dairy as a practical route to greater financial independence for women in village communities.
Officials described the Azamgarh investment as part of Uttar Pradesh’s wider cooperative-based development model. The state believes that stronger dairy infrastructure, from milk collection to processing and distribution, will help build a more self-reliant rural economy while supporting long-term growth in the agricultural sector.
