Indian packaged food major launches an eight-language campaign showcasing Gas Chromatography fingerprinting and ICP-MS testing to reinforce consumer trust.
Indian packaged dairy and food manufacturer GRB Dairy Foods has rolled out a comprehensive consumer transparency campaign designed to demystify the laboratory testing protocols behind its signature pure ghee. Deployed across digital and social platforms in eight regional languages—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi, Odia, and Bengali—the initiative pulls back the curtain on advanced analytical food science to validate product authenticity and combat adulteration concerns across packaged fats.
At the center of the campaign is Gas Chromatography (GC), a high-precision analytical technique used to evaluate the fatty acid profile and chemical composition of dairy fat. By generating a distinct “molecular fingerprint” for every batch of ghee, the technology verifies compositional purity, confirms fatty acid balance, and ensures the product strictly adheres to internal quality thresholds and national food safety standards.
The campaign highlights a broader infrastructure upgrade across GRB’s quality assurance operations, including the recent installation of Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) instrumentation at its central laboratory in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Recognized as an industry benchmark for detecting trace elemental contaminants and heavy metals, the ICP-MS platform provides an additional safeguard for chemical integrity before retail distribution.
Balakarthik Balasubramaniam, Director at GRB Dairy Foods, emphasized that while food science has advanced significantly within laboratory settings, bridging the communication gap with end consumers is essential for long-term brand equity. Translating complex laboratory workflows into accessible digital storytelling allows the company to differentiate its premium ghee lines across both domestic Indian retail channels and growing export destinations spanning over 40 countries.
The initiative comes as India’s organized ghee market experiences intensifying competition, where brand trust and verified provenance increasingly drive consumer purchasing decisions over unbranded alternatives. By positioning advanced chemical profiling and transparent testing methodologies at the forefront of its brand proposition, GRB aims to turn backend quality control into a core commercial asset in the premium dairy space.
