In his opening address, Minister Dharampal Singh called for the accelerated adoption of scientific dairy management, targeted genetic improvement of indigenous cattle breeds, and comprehensive animal healthcare systems to reinforce rural household incomes. Emphasizing the state administration’s policy framework—anchored by the Nand Baba Milk Mission and the Uttar Pradesh Dairy Development and Investment Promotion Policy, 2022—officials reaffirmed financial and veterinary support mechanisms designed to raise milk productivity and guarantee transparent digital payments directly to farmgate suppliers.

Academic-industry collaboration formed a central theme of the exposition. Vice-Chancellor Chaturvedi underscored BHU’s readiness to partner with NDDB across dairy production economics, food technology, and livestock management, citing institutional assets such as the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences and the university’s dedicated dairy farm at the Rajiv Gandhi South Campus. Complementing the institutional dialogue, NDDB and state authorities reviewed ongoing efforts to revitalize regional dairy processing plants across Varanasi, Kanpur, Kannauj, Gorakhpur, and Ambedkar Nagar to strengthen cooperative collection networks.

The festival featured more than 50 technical exhibition stalls showcasing practical innovations spanning the dairy supply chain. Exhibits included robotic milking units, data-driven dairy management software, smart digital weighing scales, digital semen thawing systems, artificial insemination tools, animal nutrition solutions, and Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccine regimes. Prominent cooperative and brand presences included Mother Dairy, Parag, Dhara, and Safal, while BHU’s Department of Dairy Science and Food Technology exhibited “Mahamana Prasadam”—an FSSAI-licensed value-added product formulated at the university.
