According to the report, the funding package will be used to upgrade dairy plants, expand chilling and storage facilities, and improve logistics systems across Rajasthan. Authorities believe the investment will help enhance efficiency throughout the milk supply chain while supporting dairy farmers through stronger procurement operations.

The Saras brand, operated by the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation, is also expected to receive a broader national rollout as part of the expansion strategy. Officials said the plan aims to position Saras more competitively in India’s fast-growing packaged dairy market, where demand for branded milk products continues to rise.

Industry observers note that India’s dairy sector is increasingly focused on value addition, infrastructure modernization, and organized retail expansion. Investments in processing and cold chain systems are seen as essential for improving milk quality, reducing wastage, and strengthening producer incomes in key milk-producing regions.
