
Argentine Dairy Market – Second Half of August 2025
In the second half of August, Argentina’s dairy exports showed a more dynamic performance in both volume and value, consolidating a recovery trend that had been emerging since mid-month.
During the period from August 16 to 31, exports totaled 19,661 tons, representing an increase of 15.4% compared to the first half of the month (17,039.55 tons). In addition, the average FOB price rose by 2%, reaching U$S 4,036 per ton, up from U$S 3,959 in the previous half-month. This rise in prices reflects an improvement in the composition of the export mix, with a higher share of higher value-added products or shipments to destinations with better pricing. Regarding market diversification, the total number of destinations slightly decreased from 32 to 31.
Monthly Analysis:
Throughout August 2025, Argentina exported a total of 36,700 tons, with an average price close to U$S 4,000 per ton, marking a month of strong export activity and a gradual price recovery compared to July. The combination of higher volumes and a slight rebound in international prices points to a more balanced quarter-end for the sector, although challenges related to domestic costs and currency competitiveness remain.

Uruguayan Dairy Market – Second Half of September 2025
In the second half of September, Uruguay’s dairy exports showed improvements in both volume and average value, consolidating a mild recovery trend after a more moderate start to the month.
During the period from September 16 to 30, exports totaled 11,406 tons, representing an increase of 16.8% compared to the first half of the month (9,763 tons). The average FOB price also showed a slight rise of 0.28%, reaching U$S 3,999 per ton compared to U$S 3,988 previously. This performance indicates price stability in the international market and a reactivation of demand, particularly for higher-rotation products.
Conversely, the number of destinations decreased from 37 to 31, suggesting a greater concentration of sales in key markets, possibly prioritizing larger volumes to strategic destinations.
Monthly Analysis:
Throughout September 2025, Uruguay exported approximately 21,170 tons of dairy products, with an average price close to U$S 3,995 per ton, consolidating a stable month in prices with volume growth compared to August. This combination reflects a firm but selective external market, where Uruguayan industries were able to maintain competitive values despite global demand caution and domestic cost pressures.
