Telangana Health, Medical & Family Welfare Damodara Raja Narasimha has announced that strict action will be taken against those involved in the preparation of adulterated food.

Speaking at a meeting organized by the Telangana Government’s Commissioner of Food Safety at Dr B R Ambedkar Secretariat, the minister addressed representatives from the Telangana State Hotels Association, National Restaurants Association, Oil Merchants Association, Bar and Restaurants, Indian Dairy Milk Products Association, Telangana Packaged Drinking Water Association, Telangana Roller Flour Millers, Bakery and Ice Creams Associations. He urged the associations to ensure the provision of quality food to the public.

The minister highlighted that Hyderabadi Biryani has been internationally recognized since the time of the Nizams. He added that Hyderabad is being developed as a medical tourism hub and emphasized efforts to enhance the city’s brand image as the food capital of India.

He called on hotel owners to act with social responsibility and announced that awareness conferences and workshops would be organized every six months to address food safety issues.
