At the party’s central office in Tadepalli, Appi Reddy questioned why the government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, showed hesitation in agreeing to a debate on the Indapur Dairy issue — especially after reportedly hinting at willingness before withdrawing consent once the Legislature convened. This public call underscores mounting pressure from YSRCP to bring the issue into a formal political forum.

Central to the controversy are allegations of altered tender norms in contracts for supplying ghee to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which the YSRCP claims were manipulated to favor Indapur Dairy and linked enterprises like Heritage. YSRCP leaders assert that documentary evidence shows tender conditions changed, disqualifications lifted, and contracts awarded at elevated prices — claims the government has not substantively rebutted.

Appi Reddy has also accused the government of engaging in “diversion politics” by raising unrelated issues about temple food quality and other matters to shift public focus. He highlighted what YSRCP describes as inconsistent behavior, including raising concerns about alleged adulteration in ghee supplies that official probe reports had already contested, maintaining this serves to muddy the core contract dispute.
