Welfare schemes help boost dairy industry

The National Artificial Insemination Scheme is boosting the dairy industry in Chhattisgarh and helping aspiring livestock owners achieve financial success, an official statement said on Saturday.

The Livestock Development Department runs this scheme; it offers free artificial insemination services using semen samples from advanced-breed bulls.

Among the beneficiaries is Suresh Kumar Yadav of Mahasamund district.

The Department inseminated his cow, leading to the birth of a genetically superior heifer — and more milk output.
