
Sabbi Kalimulla Khan, former CEO of Vaishnavi Dairy, reportedly fled his hometown Srikalahasti when the SIT was formed to investigate the ghee adulteration case.
In the Tirumala laddu ghee adulteration case, the Supreme Court-formed CBI-led Special Investigation Team (SIT) has launched a manhunt to nab Sabbi Kalimulla Khan, former CEO of Vaishnavi Dairy, Srikalahasti, who reportedly played a key role in sending the rejected ghee tankers back to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in June 2024.
Khan reportedly fled his hometown Srikalahasti when the SIT was formed to investigate the ghee adulteration case.
In a significant development, the SIT has started questioning one Srinivas, a commission agent from Chennai, who acted as a mediator between the TTD marketing department and AR Dairy management, in connection with the ghee adulteration case. The four accused in the case were sent to judicial remand two days ago.
Meanwhile, Supreme Court advocate Harshana Sukhdev reached Tirupati on Tuesday to argue on behalf of Accused 3, 4 and 5 against the SIT custody petition in the Second Additional District Magistrate Court.
Moreover, a bail petition was filed by A2, AR Dairy MD Raju Rajashekaran in the court on Tuesday.
Cases have been registered against the accused under Sections 274, 275, 316(5), 318(3), 299, 336, 61(2), and 340(2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Remand report
The SIT has already submitted a 14-page remand report. As per the report, Bhole Baba Organic Dairy of Uttarakhand played a key role in the supply of adulterated ghee to the TTD. Its directors Pomil Jain and Vipin Jain colluded with AR Dairy to supply the adulterated ghee to the TTD.
Ghee supplied to TTD with fake seals, GST bills
Adulterated ghee from Bhole Baba Dairy reached Vaishnavi Dairy in Tirupati district. The ghee was supplied to the TTD with fake seals, GST bills and lab reports.
Vaishnavi Dairy submitted a tender in the name of AR Dairy, and supplied ghee by creating false documents and FSSAI returns. The SIT had stated that the Earnest Money Deposit amount for securing the ghee supply tender was transferred from Bhole Baba Dairy account to AR Dairy account. After securing the tender on May 15, 2024, ghee was supplied to the TTD four times in June and July under the name of AR Dairy. The NDDB CAF lab report had confirmed that the ghee was adulterated with animal fat. The SIT has sought the custody of the accused to question them as part of the probe.
Accused in the case
Accused No. 1 AR Dairy, Tamil Nadu, A2 Rajashekaran of AR Dairy, A3 Apoorva Chawda of Vaishnavi Dairy, A4 Pomil Jain, A5 Vipin Jain, A6 Vaishnavi Dairy, and A7 Bhole Baba Dairy are named in the SIT report.
