State govt will soon launch a scheme, titled Mukhyamantri Kamadhenu Yojana, to increase milk production in Odisha, chief minister Mohan Majhi said on Wednesday. “Another scheme named Mukhyamantri Prani Kalyan Yojana will be launched for the welfare of domestic animals,” Majhi added while attending a meeting of the Odisha State Non-Gazetted Veterinary Technical Employees’ Association.

“Animal husbandry is the best option for increasing the income of small, medium and landless farmers. By engaging in activities like cattle, goat, sheep and fish farming, alongside agriculture, they can become self-reliant,” Majhi said.
