Mysuru Milk Union (Mymul) chairman R Cheluvaraju on Tuesday stated that if dairy farming survives, the rural economy will be strengthened as it is the lifeline of farming activities.
Speaking after inaugurating the World Milk Day celebrations organised by Mymul at its plant in Siddhartha Nagar, he said that currently, the Nandini brand has attracted attention at the global level. It has grown worldwide, strengthening the farmers of the state.
He said that the price of Nandini brand products is low compared to other states, including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Maharashtra. “This must be kept in mind before opposing any price hike,” he said.
“Milk producers are being paid fairly. Fodder and seeds are being distributed to help them bring down the production cost,” he said.
Stressing the importance of supplying quality milk, he said that it is the only way through which we can win the trust of the customers.
Mymul directors, officials, and farmers were present.
