Collaboration Agreement between Madhya Pradesh Dairy Federation and NDDB: A Major Achievement of the State Government.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the state government has taken a significant step to double the income of the state’s dairy producers and promote milk production. A Inner Bhopal140425072049collaboration agreement was signed between the M.P. State Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited, associated dairy unions, and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for five years, which can be extended by mutual consent. The agreement will primarily focus on establishing collection centers in every gram panchayat, increasing the processing capacity of dairy unions, and expanding the number of dairy committees. As a result, the income of dairy producers will witness an unprecedented rise. This collaboration agreement, signed in the presence of Union Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah on Sunday, is expected to bring about a revolution in milk production. This agreement is a significant achievement for the state government in the dairy sector.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav mentioned that the state’s Sankalp Patra-2023 includes provisions for ensuring milk procurement and helping dairy farmers get the right price for milk by opening dairy cooperative societies and collection centers in every gram panchayat. The agreement will also contribute to the expansion of milk coolers, mini dairy plants, and chilling centers in each district under the White Revolution Mission with an investment of Rs. 2500 crore. This will strengthen the cooperative system and the Sanchi brand under the state’s Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department.

Dr. Yadav highlighted that to ensure milk procurement and fair pricing, collection centers would be established in every gram panchayat. Currently, there are 6,000 dairy committees in the state, which will be increased to 9,000. Each dairy committee covers 1 to 3 villages, and with 9,000 committees, about 18,000 villages will be covered. Daily milk collection will increase from 10.50 lakh kilograms to 20 lakh kilograms. Additionally, the number of villages covered by dairy producer organizations (MPOs) through NDDB will rise from 1,390 to 2,590, and milk procurement will grow from 1.3 lakh liters to 3.7 lakh liters daily. The processing capacity of dairy unions will also be increased. Presently, the capacity of dairy plants is 18 lakh liters per day, which will be increased to 30 lakh liters per day. An estimated investment of Rs. 1,500 crore will be made over the next 5 years. The target is to double the total annual income of dairy producers from Rs. 1,700 crore to Rs. 3,500 crore.

Strengthening the Sanchi Brand

The National Dairy Development Board will further strengthen the Sanchi brand of the state. There will be no change in the name of the brand at the national level. No management or consultancy fees will be charged for the management and operation of dairy unions or the development of new processing and infrastructure. Technical and management experts will be deployed at the dairy unions as needed, and the welfare of the working staff will also be ensured. A grievance redressal system will be developed to address complaints from dairy farmers associated with dairy cooperative societies.
