Nandini Dairy Safety Assured KMF Quashes Viral Rumours

Karnataka Milk Federation reaffirms product safety, warns against misinformation and pledges legal action amid social media panic.

The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF), India’s major cooperative behind the Nandini dairy brand, has publicly dismissed circulating social media claims suggesting its milk and milk products are unsafe. The federation issued a strong clarification underscoring that all Nandini products adhere fully to the quality and safety regulations set by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

False posts spread on Instagram and other platforms had allegedly portrayed Nandini products as harmful, sparking confusion among long-standing consumers of the brand. KMF stressed that these rumours lack any scientific basis or verified testing and are misleading.

In its public notice, the federation appealed to millions of loyal customers to rely on established food safety standards and avoid unverified online claims. KMF emphasized that rigorous quality checks are conducted at every stage of production, packaging and distribution to ensure Nandini milk, ghee and other dairy goods are safe for consumption.

To deter further misinformation, KMF warned that it will pursue strict legal action against individuals or groups spreading defamatory content that could harm the brand’s reputation. The actions reflect growing concern in the dairy sector over how unverified content on social media can disrupt consumer confidence in trusted food producers.

Nandini is one of southern India’s most recognized dairy brands, widely consumed domestically and increasingly exported. By reaffirming compliance with FSSAI norms and committing to transparency, KMF aims to reassure both local markets and international observers about the integrity of its dairy supply chain.
