Mother Dairy is targeting ₹17,000 crore in revenue with a 15-16% growth, backed by ₹1,000 crore in investments.
The company is expanding with new greenfield plants and launching products like jeera raita and new ice cream flavours. Despite stable milk prices, a slight summer increase is anticipated due to seasonal factors.
Mother Dairy, led by Managing Director Manish Bandlish, is charting a long-term growth strategy for the next four to five years. The company has already secured board approval for investments exceeding ₹1,000 crore and is evaluating additional proposals to expand its operations.
“We are bullish about our business across Safal and dairy segments, particularly in capital expenditure. Our focus is on expanding capacities through new greenfield plants as well as enhancing existing facilities,” Bandlish said.
With summer approaching, Mother Dairy is gearing up for new product launches. In the ice cream segment, the company regularly introduces new flavours to cater to evolving consumer preferences, especially among younger customers. This year, several fresh flavours will be added to the lineup.
The company is also entering a new product category with the launch of raita, an area that remains relatively untapped in the market. The first variant, jeera raita, is set for release by March.
Additionally, multiple new variants of chach and other dairy products are in the pipeline. Bandlish highlighted that initial market tests have been encouraging, and the company is optimistic about consumer response, aiming for a wider rollout.
While Mother Dairy’s portfolio includes bread and bakery products, dairy remains its core business, accounting for about 70% of total revenue. Demand has remained strong in 2024-25, with the company witnessing a 35-40% increase in volume for key summer categories last year.
Bandlish noted that milk prices have remained stable for the past year and a half, following a sharp rise two years ago. However, a slight increase is expected in the summer, particularly in northern regions and certain parts of the country, due to seasonal fluctuations in buffalo milk production. The company has adequate stock to manage any potential market volatility.
