
Milma has achieved a record for Onam sales of milk and allied products. 1,00,56,889 litres of milk were sold from last Friday till Monday. There is a growth of 6.5 percent over the previous year. Last year, 94,56,621 lakh litres of milk were sold. There is a growth of 16 percent in the sale of curd compared to the previous year. 12,99,215 lakh kg of curd was sold from Friday till Monday. Last year, it was 11,25,437 lakh kg.
Milk sales were the highest on Friday, the last working day before Onam. A growth of 13 percent over the previous year. 18,59,232 lakh milk was sold on that day. There was a 37 percent increase in the sale of curd on Friday alone. The three unions of Milma together sold 743 tonnes of ghee.
Milma Chairman KS Mani said that Onam celebrations in offices and schools helped Milma to achieve huge growth. He said that Milma was able to procure more than one crore liters of milk during Onam.
