The Cabinet Minister said that the state government is giving Rs 17,500 per animal to the general category and Rs 23,100 per animal to the scheduled caste beneficiaries for the purchase of 2 to 20 milch animals by the state government. Similarly, 50% (maximum Rs. 24,366) subsidy is being given on double teat cup milking machine to encourage milk producers to produce clean milk.
He said that apart from this, a subsidy of 5.60 lakh rupees is being given on the machine for making green fodder bales. Milk producers/farmers can sell these bales during lean months by making silage or pickles from green fodder during surplus green fodder months. Profit can be earned by sending green fodder bales to Punjab as well as other states. In this way, small and urban dairy farmers can get balanced animal feed all year round at a reasonable price and the youth will get employment.
Weekly dairy training program is conducted
Dairy Development Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar said that livestock management, food, health facilities, better marketing and the use of information technology are important aspects for the success of the dairy industry. A weekly dairy training program is conducted. So that after this course the youth can start self-employment from their own homes. He said that about 6,000 youths are trained in these centers every year. Apart from this, a 4-week dairy entrepreneurship training program is also conducted in which the existing milk producers are given advanced training to take up the dairy profession in a scientific manner. 1000 trainees are given advanced training every year.
