
On August 10, 2024, the College of Dairy and Food Technology Alumni Council organized an international seminar at RCA Auditorium, focusing on “Entrepreneurship Development and Start-up Opportunities in the Dairy and Food Industry.” Dr. Karun Chandaliya, President of the Alumni Council, emphasized that the seminar was aimed at fostering entrepreneurship among students in the dairy and food sectors.
Dr. Lokesh Gupta, Dean of the college, highlighted that the institution, established in 1982, is the oldest dairy and food technology college in Rajasthan and has consistently contributed to the nation by producing highly skilled professionals. He expressed pride in the success of the college’s alumni, who now hold prominent positions in leading dairy and food enterprises. The college also offers training programs for farmers, youth, and women, enhancing their technical skills, which has made it a priority for government training initiatives. In 2023-24, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises of India awarded ₹50 lakh to the college for conducting an entrepreneurship skill development program, recognizing the institution’s comprehensive approach to entrepreneurship and skill development.
Keynote speaker Japeesh Jayadevan, CEO of Hocco Ice-Cream, discussed the opportunities and challenges in the ice cream industry. Dr. Vijay Sardana shared insights on various start-up challenges and solutions, while A.K. Tripathi addressed the integration of new technologies, answering the queries of enthusiastic students.
The Vice-Chancellor of MPUAT, Dr. Ajeet Kumar Karnataka, praised the alumni for organizing this world-class seminar, reflecting the college’s rich tradition. Alumni Council Secretary Nirbhay Goyal thanked the speakers and expressed gratitude to the more than 400 alumni who participated, urging current students to continue this proud legacy.
