Even though the meeting of the board of directors held on Friday deferred the immediate implementation of milk price hike, the Goa State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union, the state’s apex milk union popularly known as Goa Dairy, is contemplating a hike in milk prices of all its four variants.

The Goa Dairy directors have suggested a market study before implementation of the hike.

Goa Dairy managing director Yogesh Rane said the issue of the hike was placed before the meeting, but the board has resolved to conduct a market study before implementation of the hike.

Rane said that though they revise the milk prices, it would not be called as hike, since they will be bringing the rates of Goa Dairy milk at par with other milk producers who supply milk in Goa market. While revising the selling rate, the dairy will also revise the milk procurement rates to facilitate the mulching farmers and promote the milk production in state, he added.

Amul, a global dairy leader, is entering the U.S. market through a partnership with the Michigan Milk Producers Association. Initially available in major cities, this expansion marks Amul’s commitment to bringing its high-quality products, including milk and dairy innovations, to American consumers.
