Buffalo ‘Gholu 2’, valued at Rs 10 crore, has taken centre stage at Bihar’s Dairy and Cattle Expo, drawing widespread attention. This buffalo, known for its remarkable lineage tracing back to its renowned grandfather Gholu-1, has gained recognition both nationally and internationally.
Remarkably, its mother yields about 27 kg of milk, while the breed itself produces 20-21 litres of milk. Experts in animal husbandry from 11 different countries, including representatives from Brazil, the world’s leading milk-producing nation, have acknowledged Gholu 2’s exceptional qualities, bestowing awards from each of these nations.
The owner of this prodigious buffalo has been honoured with the Padma Shri award.
