The dairies will be shifted to Hafsili and Ratauna villages where the dairies will be shifted.
Commissioner of Nagar Rajkumar Khatri has directed the officials to impose a fine of Rs 500 on each of 180 dairy owners for not constructing cowsheds in the villages where they were allotted land. He also said notices should be issued to 90 dairy owners.
Out of 90, notices were issued to 31 dairy operators on Monday. Khatri took action after receiving reports of a nine-member committee to identify those dairy owners running their businesses from 48 wards in the city. The dairies will be shifted to Hafsili and Ratauna villages where the dairies will be shifted.
The committee has been advised to identify the dairies according to their category. The committee will also identify those dairy owners who have plots and cattle and those who have cattle but have no plot. They will also collect information about those who have cattle and plots but do not have banking facilities.
The committee will provide them all the facilities after identifying the dairy owners. The decision to set up the committee has been taken to properly settle the dairy owner at Hafsili and Ratauna villages. The committee inspected 244 plots out of 264 allotted to dairy owners. The committee presented a report to the municipal commissioner, mentioning that 180 dairy owners did not construct shades.
Forty-two dairy owners constructed shades and were running dairies, and only half-shades have been constructed on 12 plots, but there are no cattle in these shades. According to reports, five shades are near a drain where shades cannot be constructed. After going through the reports, Khaitri reviewed the reports submitted by the nine-member committee and said the dairies should be shifted to maintain traffic circulation and keep the city clean.
