Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said on Monday that the state government stands firmly behind dairy farmers and assured of all possible support.
Addressing combined functions of a diamond jubilee celebration of Gokul, foundation laying function of modern butter and Peda production project and bhoomi puja of a petrol pump here, he said that at a time when condition of many Dudh Sanghs (milk producing institutions) in the state was not satisfactory, the work of Gokul Milk producer in Kolhapur, which is a pioneer for the state, was commendable.
He credited Gokul for making farmers financially prosperous.
Pawar said that dairy business is a profitable business and urged milk-producing farmers that they should plan it properly.
