A key concern raised by Gogoi is the apparent sidelining of experienced dairy farmers, who, despite meeting all eligibility criteria, are reportedly being overlooked in favor of politically connected individuals. This alleged bias not only undermines the scheme’s intended purpose of supporting genuine cultivators but also sparks public outrage, challenging the principles of fair opportunity and merit-based allocation within the agricultural landscape.

Adding fuel to the fire, Gogoi highlighted a public statement from the Chief Minister of Assam, who reportedly openly justified the inclusion of ministers’ family members in the scheme. Such an admission has further inflamed public sentiment, suggesting a blatant disregard for ethical governance and potentially eroding public trust in government-sponsored initiatives aimed at boosting milk production and rural livelihoods.

Gogoi’s letter also drew attention to the Gorukhuti agricultural project, a venture funded by public money with stated objectives of inclusive development. Alarmingly, Gogoi alleged that high-yield Gir cows, intended for broad benefit, were instead allocated to elected representatives. This purported diversion of resources further compromises the project’s integrity and raises questions about resource distribution within the dairy economics framework.
