Dairy farmers protest

Speaking to media persons during the protest demonstration, the dairy farmers said they have not been paid their dues and other funds have not been sanctioned on the pretext that the post of the union’s managing director has been lying vacant.

On October 12 last, the State Government had nominated one managing director.

Further, the members of the union, in a meeting held on October 6 last had also decided to support any nomination made by the Government for the post of the managing director.

However, disrespecting the decision of the members, the union chairman has not yet given his approval, said the protestors.

Stating that they have been boycotting the chairman, the farmers demanded the chairman to step down from his post.

The Madhya Pradesh government will invest Rs 1,500 crore to double the size of milk production and to increase farmers’ income in the next five years, officials said.
