Ksheera Sangamam, a meet of dairy farmers in Ernakulam will begin at Maneed near Mulanthuruthy on Tuesday. Minister for animal husbandry J Chinchu Rani will inaugurate the two-day event. Various programmes including workshops for dairy farmers, seminars and exhibition of various breeds of cattle will be there as part of the event.
The programme will start with a procession starting from Maneed junction Tuesday morning.
Industries minister P Rajeeve will felicitate dairy farmers at the function. Opposition leader V D Satheesan will present the award to the best young farmer. MLA Anoop Jacob will preside over the inaugural function. The event will be held at the parish hall of Saint Kuriakose Cathedral at Maneed.
A seminar on dairy development will be held on Wednesday. Dairy farmers and and animal husbandry department officials will discuss issues related to the dairy sector in the district.
