“They are trying to destroy KMF, the way they did BSNL and banks that originated in coastal Karnataka. The BJP government is conspiring against the KMF, which is working for the welfare of dairy farmers in the state. Farmers should raise their voice against the conspiracy of the BJP,” the MLA said. Further, he lashed out at the BJP government, alleging that no schemes were implemented for the promotion of the dairy farming sector in the state.

“The Congress government had provided subsidy to farmers to set up cattle farms under the Pashu Bhagya scheme. The implementation of the scheme was instrumental in increasing the cattle population and milk production in the state. The government was purchasing excess milk to supply it among schoolchildren, under the Ksheera Bhagya scheme. However, the BJP government has stopped the scheme,” Khader said.

On the Pashu Sanjeevini scheme of the BJP government, Khader said that though ambulances were purchased, the department of animal husbandry and veterinary services lack sufficient number of drivers and staff.

“Borewells and other water resources have gone dry in various parts of the district. The deputy commissioner should immediately release grants to gram panchayats, to take up steps to mitigate the water crisis,” he demanded. On a complaint filed by the SDPI against Khader, accusing him of campaigning in mosques and madrassas in his constituency, the MLA said, “Let the Election Commission conduct an inquiry.”

“Those who lack knowledge about the law have filed a complaint. The Election Commission will conduct an inquiry. I am not bothered about the complaint. I visit the mosque to offer prayers every day. Is there any law that says that I should not visit mosques and temples? I have been adhering to the model code of conduct,” Khader said.
