
Daltonganj: On a day the Enforcement Directorate (ED) asked chief minister Hemant Soren to appear for questioning in the Ranchi land scam case, Soren is likely to reach Daltonganj on October 4 to commission the multi-crore Medha dairy project at Gankey, 5 km from the Zero Mile in Daltonganj.
On Saturday, Palamu deputy development commissioner Ravi Anand, SDO (sadar) Rajesh Kumar Sah, SDPO Surjit Kumar and others inspected the project and took note of the security aspect, crowd management, traffic control, VIP car parking and general parking among others.
SDPO Surjit Kumar said, “We along with the DDC visited the Medha dairy project at Gankey to assess the security arrangement and crowd management. The chief minister is expected to visit here on October 4.” It is the fifth summons that the ED has served to Soren, who has skipped all earlier four. The ruling JMM unit here is confident of the visit of the CM. The Palamu district president of the party, Rajinder Sinha, said, “The chief minister is coming. We are looking forward to his visit here.”
Soren was scheduled to commission the plant on September 26. The dairy plant, which has a processing capacity of 50,000 litres per day and uses modern technology to dispose of wastes, has cleared all mandatory quality tests and the standard of milk processing, the general manager of the Jharkhand Milk Federation, Pavan Kumar Marwaha, said.
