GCMMF, the apex body of all dairy unions in Gujarat, decided to increase milk prices by Rs 2 per litre in all the milk varieties including the popular verities – Amul Gold, Amul Shakti and Amul Taaza. Federation officials said that the increase in cattle feed cost, transport cost and overall input cost was behind the price hikes.

It was in August last year (2022) that the dairy major had increased milk prices in the Gujarat market. With the latest price revision, Amul Gold will now be sold at Rs 64 per litre, Amul Shakti Rs 58 per litre and Amul Taaza will cost Rs 52 per litre.

Even as GCMMF officials remained tight-lipped on the decision regarding the price hike, all milk unions in the state, who are members of the federation, have decided to adopt the revised milk prices.
