The National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) is working hard to develop India’s first Bullet Train project.

The country’s maiden high-speed rail will run from Ahmedabad to Mumbai. Recently, the NHSRCL published a breathtaking image depicting the rapid progress of the Bullet Train station and track construction in Ahmedabad’s Anand district, also known as the Milk Capital of India.

The picture showcases the new infrastructure effortlessly blending with Anand’s colourful and vibrant surroundings, raising the excitement for India’s first Bullet train.

Additionally, the design of the bullet train station in Anand will reflect its dairy heritage. According to the NHSRCL website, the station’s architecture and interiors will include smooth, flowing shapes and subtle hues of milk droplets, indicating its close ties to India’s dairy sector.

Talking about its structure, Ahmedabad’s Anand Station will be 415 meters long and 25.6 meters high, designed specially to control high-speed rail traffic and showcase the station’s impressive and modern stature. Apart from this, the station will have a total built-up area of 44,073 square meters, offering enough space for both functioning and traveller comfort.

Other amenities for the passengers include Ticketing and Waiting Rooms, Restrooms, an Information Desk, a Premium-Business Class Longue, a Nursery for families and Retail outlets.

As for its connectivity, according to a report by The Financial Express, the NHSRCL has acquired additional land along the viaduct to establish direct links from the station to NH-64 on one side and SH-150 on the other, in addition to its existing access via the link road to NH-64.

The closest railway station is Uttarasand, about 600 meters to the east. While, the nearest airport is Vadodara Airport, about 54 km from the station and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, Ahmedabad which is about 70 km away.

Meanwhile, talking about India’s first bullet train project, it will pass through the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Also, the total length of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor is 508 km long and the train will have an operational speed of 320 km/h.

The project is being developed at a cost of Rs 1.08 Lakh Crore.
