Paras Dairy’s Big Cheese Move in India

The Company Is Expanding Its “Galacia Cheese” Portfolio to the Western and Southern Regions, Aiming to Become a Top-Five Brand in the Indian Dairy Market.

Paras Dairy, operating under VRS Foods Limited, is making a strategic push into western and southern India to solidify its national presence. The company’s expansion plan is centered on its Galacia Cheese portfolio, with an ambitious goal of becoming one of the top five cheese brands in the country. To achieve this, Paras Dairy plans to add 100 new distributors and grow its presence from 500 to over 2,000 HORECA (Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering) outlets by March 2026.

The cheese is produced at a cutting-edge facility in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, which has received a significant investment of over INR 100 crore. The plant utilizes advanced Individual Quick Freezing (IQF) technology to ensure the quality and consistency of the product. This technological investment highlights the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality products that meet the stringent demands of commercial kitchens and the broader food service industry.

The Galacia Cheese range, which currently includes Mozzarella, is designed to be versatile, offering different variants such as low melt, high melt, and analogue cheese. This product diversity allows Paras Dairy to cater to the specific needs of various culinary applications. The company has a clear, phase-wise plan to expand its portfolio to include processed cheese blocks, slices, and sauces, further increasing its market share and competitive edge in India’s dynamic dairy economics.

The strategic expansion will bring Paras Dairy’s products to major metropolitan hubs including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. This targeted approach is designed to establish a strong foothold in these key markets. By focusing on cities with a population of over one million, the company is positioning itself to be a preferred partner for the HORECA industry, a crucial segment for growth in the agribusiness sector.

For the international dairy community, this expansion is a prime example of strategic market entry and growth in one of the world’s most populous countries. It showcases how a company can leverage technological investment and a targeted distribution strategy to compete with established brands. The success of this move will be a key case study in how a domestic player can scale up to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving national market.
