Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav outlines a master plan to become a leading dairy state, focusing on infrastructure, branding, and training.
MP's Dairy Masterplan A Bold Vision for Growth

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav Outlines a Comprehensive Strategy to Transform Madhya Pradesh into a Leading Dairy State Through Branding, Infrastructure, and Veterinary Training.

In a key statement for the agribusiness sector, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has unveiled a comprehensive strategy to elevate the state’s dairy industry. The plan goes beyond simply increasing milk production, with a core focus on improving branding, proper cattle care, and developing advanced infrastructure. The Chief Minister also directed that the expertise of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) should be fully utilized to achieve these ambitious goals.

A major objective of this vision is to dramatically expand the state’s dairy network. According to a key piece of data journalism, the goal is to extend the network to 26,000 villages by 2030. This expansion is projected to lead to the collection of 52 lakh kilograms of milk and will serve as the foundation for the state’s growth as a major force in dairy economics.

The strategy places a strong emphasis on professional development and technological advancement. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of introducing veterinary courses in all state universities with the support of the Veterinary Council of India. He also directed that milk unions adopt Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure uniformity in product manufacturing and to ensure that milk producers receive consistent and timely payments.

To support the expansion, the plan calls for the development of state-of-the-art dairy processing infrastructure and a strong, national-level branding for the state’s dairy products. In areas where milk unions have limited reach, the government intends to encourage and train private dairy entrepreneurs in modern technology. This dual-pronged approach aims to maximize both cooperative and private sector participation in the growth of the industry.

For the international dairy community, this roadmap provides a powerful example of a government-led initiative to build a modern and efficient dairy sector from the ground up. By focusing on a holistic strategy that includes scientific research, professional training, and collaborative partnerships, Madhya Pradesh is positioning itself to become a significant player in both India’s and the global agribusiness landscape.
