Managing Director DS Konda informed that Rs 84 lakh has been withheld from the contractors following the auditors’ finding that there was an error in the payment based on the distance to the tankers that transported milk from other states to Milma Thiruvananthapuram Union.
An instruction has been given to withhold the amount of the doubtful bills. If more money has been paid then the remaining amount will be allowed only after reducing that amount. Strict action will be taken against the officials who mishandled.
The transportation rate of bringing milk from other states is less in the Thiruvananthapuram union than in other unions.
The stick line machine at Thiruvananthapuram Dairy is operational. The Managing Director informed that the machine produces various flavours of bar ice creams for Ernakulam and Malabar Unions apart from the Union’s marketing needs.
