Farmers Protest in Bengaluru Demanding Higher Milk Procurement Price

On Monday, the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Green Brigade organized a protest outside the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) office in Bengaluru, urging the state government to raise the milk procurement price to at least Rs 50 per litre. The protesters also called for an interim support price of Rs 10 until the implementation of a Minimum Support Price (MSP) for milk.

The protest, led by association president Kodihalli Chandrashekar, attracted farmers from across Bengaluru, Chikkaballapur, Doddaballapur, and Tumakuru.

Demonstrators also demanded the government abolish the levy on locally procured milk and ensure that maize for cattle feed is purchased directly from farmers.

Despite KMF officials urging the protesters to call off the demonstration with assurances that their concerns would be addressed, the farmers made it clear that they would continue their protests until the government took meaningful action on their demands.
