Vigilance officials from Aavin conducted surprise checks at the milk booths at RS Puram, Sirumugai and a few other places on Thursday afternoon after receiving complaints that most of the milk sachets were found leaking when brought to the booths.
Aavin supplies milk from its dairy plant at Perur Pachapalayam in Coimbatore district daily. Three days ago, vendors in RS Puram, Mettupalyam, Sirumugai areas received milk sachets that were leaking. Some vendors received only empty milk packet covers.
The issue was brought to the notice of Aavin vigilance officials by the milk agents.
