Sambhal police on Tuesday raided an illegal synthetic milk production factory in the Kaila Devi area, seizing a large quantity of synthetic milk, chemicals, and equipment.
The authorities also recovered chemical-laden powder, refined oil, machines, and various tools used in the illegal manufacturing process. Additionally, a pickup truck loaded with ice blocks and a milk tanker were confiscated. Food inspectors collected samples at the scene, while two brothers, Dharmveer and Chhote alias Jagveer, who were operating the factory, fled.
According to the police, the synthetic milk was being produced here and distributed elsewhere, with the operation believed to have been running for several years. Sources said that several villagers were involved in supplying the synthetic milk. Additional SP Shrish Chandra also arrived at the spot to oversee the operation. The factory was also running on a domestic power connection, prompting the power department to visit the factory to investigate the matter.
The police team, led by Inspector Satya Prakash Singh, raided the site based on a tip-off. Singh said, “We seized milk production machines, a milk tanker with about 5,000 litres of milk, a pickup loaded with ice, a huge quantity of refined oil, chemical-laden white powder, surf powder, SNF, and fat-checking machines, along with other related equipment. Food inspectors Sudhir Kumar and Ranjit Singh collected samples. Machines for checking SNF and fat content were also found.”
A senior cop said, “The synthetic milk production was ongoing for years, with supplies being sent to restaurants in Gajraula. We informed the electricity department to investigate the factory’s power consumption, as it operated with stolen electricity. Action will also be taken against the suspects for electricity theft.”
